Intuition and Intent
When working with our intuition, we have to understand that intuitive information is generated by one thing, and one thing only. Intuition is based entirely on our intent.
Our intuitive resources – our Higher Self and our Spirit Guides – fully acknowledge that we alone are the Creators of our experience. We are empowered through free will and choice to create exactly what we want. Their job is to help us out as much as possible in the creation process.
Their job is not, however, to tell us what to create. That’s up to us to decide. And many of us, at one time or another, would rather not make that decision. We would love for our Higher Self, our angels and Guides to swoop in and just show us what would be in our highest good. We’d like, just a little bit, to be told what to create in our lives.
This kind of “show me” attitude invariably generates very fuzzy guidance. If we ask our spiritual resources to “show us” what would align with our highest path, we may be presented with all kinds of possibilities and options, none of which stand out more than others. The Universe is an infinitely abundant place. There are innumerable ways we can align with our highest path! We are left with a vast number of open doors in front of us, scratching our heads and wondering which one to walk through.
In the end, we still have to decide what we want our alignment with our highest path to look like, here in the physical world. Our intuitive resources will never take that decision of our hands. Their job is to supply the “how” of getting to our destination. Picking our destination, however, is our responsibility.
Clear intentions deliver clear intuitive guidance. Fuzzy, indecisive intentions deliver fuzzy, vague intuitive guidance. If you think you are having trouble “hearing” your Guides or “seeing” your path, ask yourself whether you’ve actually decided what you want. You are the Creator, the driving force. It all comes back to your intent.
Blessings,
Andrea

You are so right about this… multitude of choices after asking for guidance. I guess I could say that by now, after making choices for myself and then seeing them not be fruitful.. to the extent that I need them to be, I’m pretty stumped. So how do I fine tune this intuition? My clear intentions? And not second guess myself? I used to think that’s what my higher self, guides and angels are for! Now I hear you saying IT’S STILL ALL UP TO ME. That’s not fair!

Jackie, the key is definitely crystal-clear intention!!! And yes, that part IS all up to us. It’s either not fair, or really wonderful!
Thank goodness our Guides and HS would never let us abdicate our responsibility to be Creator.
Here’s to your Divinity!
Andrea
What’s the point of having spirit guides and angels if they are not going to point us in the right direction? So, they basically want us to chase our tails like a dog and keep going around in circles? Furthermore, what do we need them for if everything is up to us?
Many people believe we are the “co-creators” of our life. Which is it? Are we fully responsible or not? Because if I am fully responsible then I’m just going to do what I want to do regardless of the consequences. I’ll be a happier person because I’ll be able to be myself versus trying to live up to what I keep reading about in books about “being this or being that.” I just want to be me and the hell with all of this “we’re all connected stuff” and you “reap what you sow.” Really? If that’s true, why am I not reaping what I sowed? I’ve done a lot! I’m really getting tired of reading about of this stuff…
I want financial abundance and I want it now, not later. I think I’ve been pretty clear about this and some other things that I would like in my life. I’m not asking for much….
I guess the only way I’ll find out “what is for sure” is when I depart planet Earth!
If I sound like I’m ranting and frustrated, it’s because I am. Sorry…

Awesome article Andrea!Reinforces the understanding of having a very CLEAR vision of what you want based on your KNOWING that it is right…
Thank you for the wonderful aha you gifted to me today
This was interesting to read, Andrea. I found myself pondering the ‘truth’ of what you wrote. I used to believe my guides and HS had some insider information that I didn’t. And they DO, just not the same info I thought they did.
What you have written makes sense and I thank you for providing me with some clarity on this.

Rebecca – Well, we have to decide the “what” – our Guides and angels can then supply us with the “how.” We have to step up as Creators … but once we decide what we want and have a clear intent, we receive a ton of invaluable help along the way!
Wendy – Thank you, so glad this resonated with you!
Suze – I love the idea of “insider information” …
One way to look at it is that we’re the CEO – we set the direction. From there, we can delegate to our Divine team.
Thank you all for your comments,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
I’m left confused now? I thought we were able to access our higher self and guides asking if what we choose is for our highest good? Isn’t this what channeling, readings and automatic writing is all about? Getting in touch with our spiritual team so we may ask questions to help us move in the right direction?
If one is struggling with life purpose or choosing a career they are passionate about; how, then are they supposed to align themselves if their guidance won’t help them figure things out? Even if we ask direct, specific questions about an area of our life that we are struggling with, will they not help us? Are they going to just say, “Sorry, your life, you figure it out. When you do, come back and we’ll show you a couple of roads you can take?” What if it takes an entire lifetime to figure it out? Then what?
Also, when we came to be part of the human process did we not have a contract written about what it is we wanted to accomplish? Isn’t this why we have a higher self and guides to help uncover and find what our path truly is? To help discover our truth, highest good and then help us to achieve it?
Blessings,
Angela
Angela – All you need is a clear intention, and then you can ask all kinds of questions of your Guides. For example, your intentions could be to align fully with your highest path for this lifetime. Great, now your Guides can help you do that – but know that broad, general intentions also yield broad, general guidance. So now you can narrow the field a bit. Your intention can be to find a career that aligns fully with your Soul’s purpose. That’s a more concise request, and now your Guides can help you with that. Once you’ve chosen a career (and you’ll have lots of options to choose from, make no mistake) then you can ask your Guides about how to thrive financially within that career. That’s even more specific, and will yield more specific answers. But do you see how your intention comes first, no matter what?
We don’t really have a “contract” – we have certain lessons we want to learn and certain energies we want to express. But what that looks like in a practical, third-dimensional format is entirely up to us. Free will is an essential part of our growth and learning here.
Blessings,
Andrea
@ Rebecca:
I can empathize with everything you’re expressing. I’ve been there too. I think everyone hits that point. If you need to, go ahead and give up. It may be the only way you can release whatever may be holding you back from what you would like.
In 2003, I was wrongfully imprisoned in a foreign prison. I could have lied, and left the country, but I chose to stay and fight for the truth. It took me three long years, but eventually, I was released. In those three years I was in the same place you are. “If I could just get some direction”; “Why can’t I receive some clear guidance on what to do”; “How did I get so damn stuck?”
I hope what I learned helps you:
It took time, but I learned the importance of patience. God may be late, but He (or she) is always on time.
Blaming others for my situation is futile. There are no victims, and we are solely responsible for where and when we are.
What you resist will always persist. Until you can be happy where and when you are, you may never progress or evolve. Regardless of the situation, if you can maintain your inner happiness your intestinal fortitude will provide you the strength needed to endure, survive, and overcome.
Lastly, the most important thing, (especially maybe for you): Money is the oil, not the engine. I lost everything I had- a home in Germany, a home in Arizona, my dog, several cars and all my savings due to my imprisonment. There were nights, during those three years, that I could only focus on what I lost, and the injustice of it all. You know what? Big Deal. So what. You can always replace things, you can always buy more. What became the big question to me was, how am I going to put my Money Energy to work for me when I’m free. When I shifted my own perspective, and started thinking of money as the tool, big things started to happen. Not only was I released to freedom, but I don’t worry about money anymore. Everything I lost has come back to me in an even bigger way. I’ve never made more money in my life, taken more vacations, or, been at a point where I could retire very early if I wanted to. Do you need money or does it need you?
