Not only would Spirit never withhold our desires from us – Spirit CANNOT withhold our desires from us.  Because we ARE Spirit.  So who is doing the withholding?  That’s right – it’s US.

I’d like to offer a very different perspective on the concept of Divine Timing, a concept that has more to do with the flow of intuition, inspiration, and information.

Our minds have a crazy thirst for knowledge.  We want to learn, we want to “know,” we want to have answers.  Frequently, we’d also like to have a plan, we’d like to know what to expect, what problems might arise down the road, and what solutions might be appropriate.  And so we do our homework.  We research.  We study.  We’re pretty much addicted to information.

But here’s the interesting thing about expanding our consciousness and accessing the Akashic Records.  All the information we could ever need or want, for any choice we’ll ever have to make, is there for us.  It’s there for us unconditionally, ready and waiting.

But here’s the catch: The information is there for us when and if we are aligned to it.  In other words, we have to be in enough resonance, in enough vibrational like-ness with the information in the Akashic Records so that it becomes accessible.

We’re not aligned to information we need in five years until … well, probably about four years and eleven months from now!

We’re not aligned to the information that solves a possible problem until that problem actually arises.

We’re not aligned to the intuitive heads-up about possible problems on our path until we’ve actually committed ourselves to walking that path.

Mind you, this is not the Divine, being stingy with information, shaking its finger at us saying: “No, you’re not ready yet.  You have to wait.”

It is OUR energetic state that decides when we’ll be in vibrational alignment with the information that serves us – in the present moment.

It’s enough to drive our poor minds crazy.  Unless we’re willing to trust in the infinite abundance of the Akashic Records.  We have to trust that all information we could ever desire will be available to us when and if we can actually use it.

I was perfectly comfortable with this concept until about three months ago, when I decided to do a live two-day training event around Money and Purpose here in Arizona in June.  Until then, flowing with guidance as it came was comfortable.  I didn’t do much planning at all, and that worked for me and my business just fine!

A live event is obviously a far more logistically intensive endeavor than an online event!  And so my poor brain went into planning overdrive for a while.  I got to witness myself first-hand, trying to “figure things out” ahead of time – and, as it turns out, ahead of Divine Timing.  I was trying to make many decisions quickly in order to be prepared, and make sure everything gets done in time for June 1st.

It’s a mindset that is actually rooted in lack.  And it actually creates a ton of stress!  When we try to rush our decisions before their time, we actually don’t have all the vibrationally aligned intuitive guidance that we need to truly make a choice that is true for us.  Inevitably, we end up second-guessing ourselves, changing our minds, or we move forward with nagging insecurity.

About a week ago, I let it go.  I decided to leave some question marks hanging in my head, and wait for inspiration and intuition to tell me what was next. My mind protested for a while, I’ll tell you that!  After all, over a hundred guests are confirmed so far, and there are a lot of moving pieces involved!

Oddly enough, I’ve gotten more done based on spontaneous inspiration in the past week than I have in the previous three!

Bit by bit, literally on an “as needed” and fully actionable basis, inspiration has filled in the blanks of unmade decisions in my head.

After all, what good is information that isn’t actionable?  It only creates stress, a sense of a long to-do list looming over us.

I still have quite a few decisions left to make.  Some of them are important.  And I know that my connection to the Akashic Records means that I will know what to do when I can act on what I know.

Intuitive information comes to us in Divine Timing.  It’s still OUR timing, because we are the Divine Creators of our experience.  But the information is designed to move our creative process forward – and there’s only so much that can be done in a day.  We don’t need the five-year action plan.  We just need to know what to do right now.

Aligning to Divine Timing means trusting that you will have all the answers, information, guidance, and resources available to you when they can actually serve you in creating what you want.  Not before, though.

Trust in Divine Timing.  You’ll know what to do when you get there.

You see … before we ever incarnated, before we ever began making choices, both positive and negative, within this human experience … before all that, our Soul became a Soul.

Our Soul was birthed from Divine Source, created as a unique, individuated expression of itself. From Divine Source, we were created as a one-of-a-kind piece of consciousness, connected to everything else through Source, OF Source, and yet separate from everything else.

Learning about our past lives is great, especially if we’re still experiencing the consequences of the choices we made in those past lives.

But to me, it’s far more valuable to journey back to our Soul’s origination and discover who we were when we were first created. Before layers and layers of humanity began obscuring our Divine nature … what WAS our Divine nature?

This is the true gift of the Akashic Records.

Who, exactly, are we as Divine Beings? What is the unique energetic matrix of individuated consciousness that is our Soul?

Our spiritual development path is not about evolving our Soul. It’s about returning to the understanding OF our Soul, so that our Soul may be expressed as human. After all, that’s why we’re here.

Spiritual development is about allowing the unique energetic matrix of consciousness that is our Soul to be translated through our human experience, in all its realities. Who is our Soul in relationship? In work and business? How does our Soul express itself through money and health?

It’s a hit-or-miss experiment, really … unless we enter the Akashic Records and discover who we’ve always been, and who we’re meant to be.

At the end of the day, our mind still has to interpret guidance into a mental format … which is where most problems arise!

So here’s a handy guide for knowing when your interpretation of intuitive guidance is leading you astray:

1. Guidance will never tell you to delay financial abundance, joy, fulfilling relationships, or good health. If your “inner guidance” is telling you to wait on these things for the sake of greater reward down the road, you’re likely avoiding DOING something right now. It’s an infinitely abundant Universe, and there is NO part of your highest path that includes suffering … or even tolerance of less than ideal circumstances.

2. Guidance will never tell you to keep doing what you’re currently doing. In fact, true guidance will usually tell you to take action that goes way beyond your comfort zone, and is thus mildly terrifying. Guidance will ask you to trust in the abundance of the Universe by taking new levels of risk, making greater investments of your time, effort, and money, in order to create new results.

3. Guidance will not give you an “assignment.” I know this one is going to ruffle some feathers, and I’m fully prepared to receive a few emails on this one! But seriously … you are not “being asked” to do anything! You are not on a job assignment from Spirit. No Higher Beings have designated you as an emissary, a messenger, or have given you a specific task. You know why? Because you are Divine and the absolute HIGHEST authority in your own life. This incarnation is designed to be YOUR playground of Divine self-expression. You ARE God within your incarnation. No “higher being” – not angels, archangels, galactic councils, groups of consciousness – would EVER presume to usurp the purpose of your lifetime.

So why do people so often tell me that they were “given” a spiritual assignment, that they are “being asked” to fulfill some mission? I do understand that this is a real phenomenon! But it is entirely SELF-created. Remember, WE are the all-powerful Creators of our own experience. If a lack of egoic self-esteem leads us to search for spiritual acknowledgement and a need to be “special” … we’ll want and therefore ASK for an “assignment.” And intuitive guidance can simply not override your will. If you want a spiritual mission, you’ll get one – because you’re the ultimate authority of your life, remember?

Seriously – actual “higher beings” would NEVER give you anything to do but focus on creating a life that is an expression of your Divine abundance.

4. Guidance will never ask you to dismiss any aspect of physical life. The spiritual realm acknowledges the perfection of the human experience, and would never ask you to give up money, sex, or material possessions. The material plane is a physical expression of Divine Abundance and is sacred. If you can’t find the Divine in the iPhone, a stunning pair of shoes, a piece of chocolate, or an orgasm, then you’re missing the point of your Soul’s choice to be in a human experience.

5. Guidance will never have you focus on helping “the planet” or “people.” Guidance is designed to help YOU create what YOU want in this human experience. If you’re preoccupied with all that you want to do for “the world,” it’s entirely possible that you’re not actually living the life you want – and don’t feel empowered enough to create the life of your choosing. it’s far more convenient at times to focus on saving “the world” than it is to engage in the very real effort and discomfort of changing our own lives.

Remember – the ONLY place you can create change is in your own experience. Be the change – remember? Focus on being the living example of what you want for others … it’s the only place from which you can be a true inspirational leader for global change. Do it yourself first. Worry about the rest of the planet later.

I live and breathe by my intuition. But I’ve also witnessed my own ego distorting intuitive guidance because of its resistance.

This is NORMAL – with awareness, we can trust that we are interpreting guidance correctly.

At the end of the day, your inner wisdom must create new RESULTS – the results you want! Because, as a Divine Being, you are here to joyfully create the experience you desire for yourself.

If results are not forthcoming – don’t create a “spiritual” reason for your lack. Assume that the error is yours … because it is.

You see, each of us has a subconscious belief system that was programmed before we were seven years old. Everything we were told, everything we experienced, all went directly into shaping this belief system. It is literally the filter through which we view the world.

Our subconscious mind protects this belief system fiercely. It is, after all, what has kept us at least reasonably safe our entire lives. It is a survival mechanism, this programming – designed to help us integrate into collective consciousness and live our lives in alignment with our family and social values.

There’s a few ways in which our subconscious programming can affect our intuitive process.

The first issue lies in stating our intentions and asking questions of our Higher Self, Spirit Guides, and Akashic Record. Our subconscious programming will usually not allow us to conceive of intentions or questions that are out of alignment with our belief system. Basically, we wouldn’t think to intend or ask what is outside of our programmed filter. And so, valuable information remains inaccessible – simply because we can’t ask or intend that of which we remain unaware.

Let’s say, for example, that our programming states that, if we assert ourselves, we will lose the love of those close to us. Maybe our parents withheld love if we were assertive and determined, while rewarding us for going along with what they wanted for us.

We will be completely unaware that this programming is running in the background of our subconscious mind. But we’ll simply not set intentions that would derail the plans or wishes of our family members. We wouldn’t even ask for intuitive information that would have us assert our will while perhaps displeasing the people we share our lives with.

We simply wouldn’t think of these intentions or questions.

The second issue lies in receiving intuitive information that does not fit in with our subconsciously programmed belief system.

What do you think happens when intuitive information that threatens our belief system makes an appearance? That’s right … the subconscious mind will filter it right out of our awareness! Remember, our belief system is simply guarding itself against what it doesn’t hold as “true.”

This is how we sometimes arrive at truly spectacularly wrong answers when we read for ourselves. In fact, this is also sometimes how we receive inaccurate readings from psychics and intuitives. If a professional reader doesn’t know how to correctly identify their intuitive access point and is not well-trained, they will only come up with comfortable and affirming answers for their client!

In other words, our subconsciously held belief system can create massive intuitive blind spots for us!

So how do we get around these blind spots?

There’s a few ways. First of all, the Akashic Records make for a fabulous access point for professional intuitives for this very reason. The subconscious belief system of the client is left out of the reading entirely. This results in “lightbulb moments” that are both truly surprising to the client while resonating as completely accurate.

The second is having proven, logically devised reading protocols, especially when using a divination method such as dowsing. If the questions are well-constructed (often by someone else!) then our subconscious mind does not object to the answer. After all, the conscious mind does have the capability to override the subconscious at any time. But in order to do so, it must occur to us to try!

And finally, putting yourself into environments such as workshops, classes and coaching programs puts you in a situation where different belief systems from our own are upheld. While this may initially create an uncomfortable reaction, this discomfort is really just a resistance mechanism created by the subconscious in order to protect itself. Eventually, however, we begin to question ourselves to the point where we can shift our subconscious programming.

This is why it’s a great idea to spend time with the people that have created the results you want in your own life! Their belief system aligns to their results … by association, we begin to shift our own programming to accommodate new results, also.

In the end, you know you have an intuitive blind spot when your inner guidance is not creating the desired results!

And this is getting some of us in trouble!

You see, with this “always-on” high-speed connection to our intuitive resources, our thoughts will generate intuitive impulses incessantly.

In other words, you’re always setting intentions. And you’re always asking for guidance.

So … how are you communicating with yourself? Most importantly … what questions are you asking yourself in your own mind?

Sometimes we ask ourselves questions – just amidst the mind chatter of our thoughts – that are less than productive from an intuitive perspective. And sometimes we ask ourselves questions that are downright damaging! (This is one of the great things about the Soul Realignment modality … you learn how to ask only productive questions that actually yield meaningful information.)

Let’s say you’re asking yourself something like: “Why can’t I make more money / find that ideal romantic partner / drop twenty pounds?”

You’ll get an answer. You’ll receive intuitive nudges and insights as to the problem at hand. You’ll get glimpses of Soul-level memories from your Akashic Records as well as current-life memories from your subconscious memory files. You’ll probably also attract a few obvious road blocks to show you exactly why you CAN’T.

In other words, this kind of question makes your own perceived obstacles BIGGER.

If you ask something like: “What are my self-limiting beliefs?” they are going to show up for you in a nice, pronounced way all over the place. If you ask: “How am I holding myself back?” this is going to show up for you, too. You’ll get a full dose of exactly how you’re holding yourself back!

Let’s say you’re asking exactly how you’re limiting yourself from creating a certain income. Not only will you end up becoming aware of every bit of childhood programming of your financial life, your lack of ability to receive, any past-life situations where money has been a negative experience …you’ll also manifest your perceived limitation in a bigger way and your income may actually go DOWN.

Hey … you asked! You wanted to be shown … and the Universe delivers! And since you’re now at a high level of consciousness, it means you manifest everything bigger and faster than before.

Of course, there’s value in having a full-blown experience of your own self-imposed limitations. If you prefer to learn through a hard slap with the Universal two by four … this is a great way to do it!

Whatever you focus on expands. The more expanded our consciousness, the more true and immediate this becomes. Focus on understanding issues, problems, and limitation … and that’s what you’ll get. Persist on focusing on your “problems,” and you may end up with the perception that you are, in fact, a hot mess in spite of all your spiritual development work.

It’s much better to ask for solutions, for the roadmap to your desired outcomes. Which means that you have to know what you want to create, to know where you are going.

Intentionality is EVERYTHING right now. Language is resonating at a more and more literal level as the fifth dimension opens up to us. How you phrase your intentions, how you ask for guidance, how you speak with yourself within your own thoughts … it matters more than ever.

Listen more closely to your own internal thoughts and questions today. You may find that you are receiving exactly what you’re asking for – once you realize what you’ve been asking!

Isn’t it odd, though, that we don’t regard our positive experiences the same way? What if we flawlessly manifest an event, a dollar amount, a new relationship? We don’t tend to sit back and say: “What’s my lesson in this? What is my growth opportunity?” Instead, we celebrate our little miracle with gratitude and move on.

It seems that we insist on learning the hard way.

Somewhere in our consciousness, we may have decided that the “school” of life comes with some tough exams and long study sessions.

The problem is that we get what we expect.

In the end, life is just a series of choices, followed by consequences. The consequence we create informs us of the energetic quality of our choice, so that we can then use this information to make subsequent choices.

There are no “lessons” that we have to learn … unless we choose them for ourselves. There are no struggles that we have to overcome … unless we choose them for ourselves.

What choices are we really here to make? The answer is simple.

We are here to make choices that express our Divinity. Each one of us is a unique, individuated expression of the Divine, and so the choices that express our Divinity are uniquely different for each one of us.

Express your Divinity, and you manifest flawlessly. Choose the expression of your Soul Purpose, choose to act in alignment with your Divine Gifts … and the results can only be Divinely abundant.

Make choices outside of your Divinity, and you are in your negative self-expression. You are being who you are NOT, rather than the Divine Being that you are. What else could the result be but negative?

Sometimes free will sucks.

But free will can also liberate us from the lessons, the tests, the hurdles that we’ve somehow decided are a part of our spiritual path.

Just choose to be, and act, and think in your Divinity.

I was talking to one of my Soul Realignment students just yesterday about creating an intimate relationship with our Soul …. about being as familiar, as connected, and as identified with our Soul as we are with our physical body. It’s entirely possible. All we do within Soul Realignment is study the nature of our client’s Souls, and our own Soul, and how we create our experience through choice and consequences.

How well do you know your Soul? How well do you know the Soul and it’s self-expression overall? What is the individuated expression of the Divine that is YOU?

Your Soul is not a mystery. Your Divine self-expression – or lack thereof – is written all over the consequences of your choices.

Whatever you focus on expands. Focus on learning through struggle, through tough lessons … and this will inevitably be what expands. But focus on the flow of your most Divine self-expression, and you’re suddenly not “in school” anymore!

It’s 2012. It’s time that we upgrade our perspective on spiritual development. It’s up to us to choose!

The learning never ends. With each reading, we constantly deepen our understanding of our Divine Gifts and Soul Purpose. With each reading, we become more conscious and self-aware.

Knowing our Divine Gifts and Purpose means we can use these attributes, apply them to our manifesting efforts, to create more of what we want. And of course, knowing the Gifts and Purpose of our loved ones means that we can also be more effective in co-creating our experience with others.

Is there a down-side to consciousness? Consciousness expands our ability to CHOOSE, and thus gives us more power to create our human experience. And with power also comes … responsibility.

Is responsibility a down-side? Is it a burden? Or is it a gift?

After all, as spiritual seekers, we are choosing greater consciousness, right? We meditate, we develop our intuition, we choose greater awareness of ourselves and others.

It stands to reason that we’re going to USE our expanded awareness to make new choices, right?

Here’s where it gets interesting. It’s easy to let ourselves off the hook for making negative choices when we didn’t know better. After all, we learn through making mistakes, right?

But with expanded consciousness and self-awareness is … you do know better. If you learn to read the Akashic Records, you learn how impeccably we create our experience through choice. You learn how choice creates consequence – positive and negative. And you DO know when you are making choices that do not align to your Divine nature, choices that are “negative,” i.e. not an expression of your Divinity.

Oops.

It’s tough having to admit to knowing that a choice is negative – and we made that choice, anyway.

It’s tough when undesired results manifest – and we know exactly which of our choices created them.

I will admit that, occasionally, I wonder if life isn’t easier when we can pretend that we are hapless victims of circumstance, when we can make unconscious choices and pretend that life is something that just “happens.”

It’s tough knowing exactly how responsible we are.

This spiritual pity-party usually lasts all of thirty seconds.

Responsibility is empowering! I, for one, would rather know how I personally screwed up and created what I did not want. I’d rather know … so that I don’t have to do it again. I’d rather step into responsibility than pretend that something “happened to me.”

Consciousness, power, and responsibility. They go hand-in-hand, and I, for one, am grateful for all three.

What about you? Have you claimed all three? Because sometimes we want the power – but not the responsibility. Sometimes we want the consciousness – but not the power.

But all three allow us to express our Divinity into our human experience … and that is, after all, why we are here.

That’s why we sometimes instantly like or dislike each other. Or perhaps we get an instant sense of distrust when we meet someone, or even fall in love at first sight!

Still, just because our energy bodies are “public,” that doesn’t give someone permission to rummage about IN them.

Sometimes intuition becomes intrusion.

Think about your energy bodies like the clothes you wear. They are a public expression of you and your choices. Everyone can see them. They may cover up a lot of you, or put certain parts of you on display. People may be able to discern your basic body shape by looking at you, but they don’t know the details of what you look like naked.

Tuning in to someone’s energy with respect and discernment is like admiring (or not, I suppose) what they are wearing. We look. We notice what stands out – a flattering piece of jewelry, an unflattering pair of pants. Obviously, we’re human, and we have opinions about what we see.

That’s all fine and good.

It’s a totally different matter if we were to attempt to go INTO someone’s energy field. Believe me, it happens.

It’s the energetic equivalent of not just looking at how someone is dressed, but running your hands over the fabric of their shirt, and reaching into their pockets to see what’s in there!

I’m pretty darn aware when someone tries to intrude past the very “public” aspect of my energy bodies and attempts to rifle through my energetic pockets, so to speak.

Needless to say, it doesn’t feel good. There’s a profound “ick” factor to this sort of intrusion. And I usually speak up about it and tell them to knock it off!

I would never work with anyone who does not uphold excellent intuitive boundaries.

Why do I bring his up?

Chances are that you may have run into energetic intrusion yourself.

You may feel, in mid-conversation, that you want to take a few steps back. You may feel squirmy. The subject matter of the conversation suddenly feels entirely too personal. And perhaps you’re suddenly on the receiving end of intuitive advice that you never asked for – perhaps even have no interest in whatsoever!

A few things to remember. Intuitives cannot access your Guide team OR your Akashic Record without your express permission. So if someone is giving you unsolicited advice in a social situation and claims it’s coming from YOUR Guide team … ignore it.

As we are collectively becoming more conscious and aware, as we are more and more willing to step out of the psychic closet … the overstepping of energetic boundaries seems to be happening more frequently, also.

When you feel uncomfortable talking to someone who is an intuitive, or an energy healer, or a psychic … listen to your instincts. Don’t for a second “should” yourself into being “more open” or judge your own reaction as “negative.”

You know when intuition has become intrusion. Honor your own boundaries – and speak up! If you feel uncomfortable, there’s a reason.

Looking at energy is one thing. That’s like noticing someone’s nifty shoes. But going INTO our energy is inappropriate, unless we’ve given permission.

Whenever I looked at possible destinations, though, that small, inner knowingness that helps me make my choices remained completely absent.

Of course, I asked my Spirit Guides and Higher Self for guidance. I knew that I wanted to be somewhere beautiful, that I wanted time to write … but I also didn’t want to go somewhere I’d be all by myself.

Guidance did not show up.

It was really, really annoying. I was very close not once, but twice, to finalizing a retreat to Kripalu … mainly because I wanted the decision made and my plans firmly in place.

Luckily, I held off. I didn’t know why nothing was really “clicking.” And as much as my ego wanted to know where I was going … I decided to wait.

Everything changed when a friend of mine called with a business idea – one that I might be somewhat involved with.

And wouldn’t you know it … what arose out of that conversation is a trip to beautiful Sonoma, where he lives. I finally go the intuitive “click” I was waiting for. I’m renting a car and staying at a hotel so that I can write and drive to the coast as I please. And not only do I get to spend time with one friend … as it turns out, another good friend of mine is going to be in the area that same week. And to top it all off, I’ll be completing my trip by attending the Spiritual Marketing Quest in San Francisco, to which my friend Suzanne Falter-Barns was kind enough to invite me.

So … I get to go somewhere beautiful, I’ll have lots of time to write, AND I’ll be surrounded by good friends a large part of the time.

Does it get more perfect than that? I don’t think so.

Would I have thought of this myself? Definitely not.

Sometimes waiting for guidance really, really pays off. And if we remain detached from what that guidance may be … we’re far more likely to recognize it when it shows up. If I’d been inwardly insistent on an overseas trip, I would have missed a beautiful experience that is right under my nose.

So ask for guidance … and wait. Act as soon as it shows up … but not sooner!

This was a question brought up by a student during one of our bi-monthly support calls just a few weeks ago.

This phenomenon is really common amongst Soul Realignment™ students and Practitioners. Even though it doesn’t “feel” like we’re doing anything extraordinary when we are accessing the Akashic Records, overall EVERYTHING about our intuitive perception changes when we begin working with this modality.

Here’s what’s going on. (Whether you study SR or not, these are intuitive development principles you must keep in mind!)

There’s two components to this new intuitive sensitivity. The first is that we very specifically work with a single point of access – we are accessing the Akashic Records. Our entire modality is built around accessing Akashic Records, from the initial attainment process to the access protocol we use every time we do reading work.

See, a lot of times I run across intuitives who just … open up. When I ask them exactly what they are reading, they really aren’t sure. There are a LOT of sources for intuitive information – Spirit Guide teams, the Records, the mental and emotional energy bodies, just to name a few. They are all valuable in their own way.

But what we must learn to do is not only to intentionally choose where our information is coming from. We also have to learn, through practice, how to focus our attention and intention on our chosen access point.
Once we’ve learned how to do that … well, our intuition sharpens overall!

Intuitive focus is something that doesn’t just happen – it’s practiced, and like a habit becomes more and more natural over time.

The other aspect of intuitive development through Soul Realignment™has to do with specificity as well.

We use highly structured dowsing protocols to navigate the vast field of information that is the Akashic Records. What we ask – in the Records, and with any other kind of intuitive practice – matters. Ask an unproductive or non-specific question, and you get unproductive and non-specific information.

Using a dowsing pendulum is just a convenient method for getting out of our own way when receiving the answers. What makes dowsing such a great tool is that you need to really think about how you structure your questions. It’s this need for structured questions that truly serves our intuitive development. (And eventually, we really don’t really need to use a pendulum anymore … )
